PRODUCT REVIEW TEAM, EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Holly began her venture in camp nursing at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in 1988. As a nursing student, she assisted the RNs in providing nursing services to campers with special needs. Upon graduating from Marquette University with a BSN in 1991, she continued to work as a staff nurse at the Lions Camp. Holly has worked at two other residential camps for one week “just to broaden my perspective,” but has planted roots at her Lions Camp. She expanded her pediatrics knowledge by working at Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee until May 1992 and her supervisory skills through work with the home health aides at REM Home Health of Wisconsin until 1999.

Since then, Holly has spent her summers as a Health Care Supervisor at the Lions Camp and pursued school health nursing in the Waupaca School District. She in is the process of obtaining School Health Certification while also helping her husband raise three sons.

Holly has been an active member of ACN since 1999 when she began serving on the Product Review Team, acting as the Region 4 facilitator, and coordinating the now famous “Bauer Goodie Bags” for ACN’s annual Camp Nurse Symposium. She has presented at both the Symposium and ACA’s MidStates Camping Conference as well as the National Conference of Lions Camps. Holly co-authored a West Nile Virus clinical commentary for ACN and began serving on the Board during the summer of 2002. She hopes to continue expanding her camp nursing horizons and looks forward to partnering with other camp nurses to move the practice forward.
