Jill Ashcraft, RN
BOARD MEMBER AT LARGE
Jill joined ACN in 2001 at the same time that she worked at a girls’ residential camp. Prior to camp nursing, Jill worked in an orthopedic clinic. Those skills traveled well to her camp nursing site. Since joining ACN, Jill has attended every Annual Meeting and Symposium, participated in educational discussions, and served as a mentor to other emerging camp nurses, especially those in the northwestern states. The character and location of her camp has broadened her camp nursing background.
Jill lives in Oregon with her husband. A mom of two “twenty some things,” she was the volunteer nurse for the kids’ Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scout camping trips and outings for 16 years. In addition, Jill has four years of day camp experiences teaching outdoor skills and leadership to middle school girls.
"I was drawn to ACN by the opportunity to meet and compare notes with other camp nurses. At a time when I needed information and support, the Board and members of ACN were very helpful to me. I really appreciated the Board’s effort to reach out to camp nurses, to provide us with the necessary info and skills we need to do our jobs better. It’s time for me to help, however my skills are needed."
